Diocesan Convention 2024

TO THE CLERGY AND ELECTED LAY DELEGATES OF OUR 42nd DIOCESAN CONVENTION:

Our 42nd Annual Diocesan Convention of our Diocese will begin with Holy Eucharist at 5:00 PM on Friday, November 8 at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Arlington. A portion of the offering this year will be sent to the Centurion Program in Northern Malawi.

A reception and dinner at the Church will be provided by Feastivities Catering following the service, from about 6:45 PM onward. We will enjoy hors d’oeuvers and drinks followed by dinner. Dancing will follow. Each Parish and Mission should seriously consider paying for their delegates and companions dinner reservations.

The business meeting will be held on Saturday at the Church. Registration will begin at 7:45 AM, and Morning Prayer will be said at 8:30 AM. The business meeting will be gaveled to order at 9:00 AM.

Our convention theme this year is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” We will focus on the many things that we have accomplished through the Diocese, none of which would have been possible without the Light of Christ. We will have reports from our 4 pillars. We will adopt a budget. And we will hold an election for one Member of the Board of Trustees, Standing Committee (clerical – elect 1) (laity – elect 1,) Ecclesiastical Trial Court (clerical – elect 1) (laity – elect 1.)

We are looking forward to gathering in His name with joy and thanksgiving for this 42nd Convention and pray for God’s blessing on all our preparations.
