Fr. Sam and Katy Wilgus

The Rev. Sam Wilgus – Nominated for Standing Committee- Clerical Member

After his ordination and curacy in the Diocese of Quincy, Fr. Sam Wilgus transferred into the Diocese of Fort Worth in 2018 to serve as an associate priest at St. Andrew’s, downtown. In 2020, he accepted the call to St. Francis of Assisi Church in Willow Park, where he was rector until 2024. He now serves as rector of St. John’s Church, Fort Worth. Beyond parish ministry, Fr. Wilgus has contributed to several diocesan committees, including the Board of Managers for Camp Crucis (2019–2022), the Church Revitalization Committee (2022–2025), the Commission on Ministry (2023–present), and the Executive Council (2025–present). He and his wife, Katy, are blessed with four children: Dottie (7), Jack (6), Holly (3), and Luke (1).

The Rev. John Heffron – Nominated for Standing Committee – Clerical Member

Fr. Heffron is the Curate at St. Vincent’s Cathedral. He has previously served on the Commission on Ministry and the Camp Crucis Board of Managers. He is also a Chaplain at the Fort Worth Police Department.

The Rev. Jeff Stubbs – Nominated for Standing Committee – Clerical Member

I am the Rector of St. Paul’s in Gainesville. I am on the Camp Crucis Board of Managers, and I help coordinate the summer internships for our diocesan seminarians. I have been on faculty for both St. Michael’s Conference and St. Gabriel’s Conference for many years, as well as Spiritual Director at Camp Crucis (also for many years). I am also on the Ecclesiastical Trial Court for the diocese.

Mr. Jimmy Henry – Nominate for Standing Committee – Lay Member

I have been a member of St. John’s, Brownwood since the first Sunday after we moved here, 37+ years ago. I was first elected to the vestry here the next year, and have served in many different positions over the years. I have been a delegate to Diocesan Convention for over 30 years. I’ve also been active on the Diocesan level, serving on Standing Committee, Executive Council, Bishop’s Nominating Committee, Camp Crucis Board of Managers, including chair for 7 years, Commission on Ministry for the Diaconate, Cursillo Secretariat, and others. After retiring from teaching, I’ve become extremely active with our local theater company, mainly building sets and props for over 50 shows so far.

Mr. Richard Cross – Nominated for Standing Committee – Lay Member

Richard Cross has been a parishioner at St Andrews for 9 years.  He has been involved in various activities at the parish from mission trips, men’s group activities, teaching of both adults and children.  He is also currently on his 2nd 3-year stint on the vestry being Junior Warden.

The Rev. K. C. Lopez – Nominated for the Ecclesiastical Trial Court

The Rev. KC Lopez is an associate priest at St. Andrews, Fort Worth. He has been married to Lindsey for 6 years and they have two children, Matilda, 4, and Oliver, 1. He took a special interest in Canon Law while studying at Nashotah House Theological Seminary, where he graduated with his M.Div in 2023.

The Rev. Jacob Hootman – Nominated for the Ecclesiastical Trial Court

Fr. Hootman is the diocesan Curate at St. John’s Church, Fort Worth. At the Provincial level, he serves as Secretary of the Liturgy Task Force, and is proud to have served on the committee which produced the Traditional Language Edition of the 2019 BCP . He formerly worked in the Diocesan Office and served as Chaplain to the Assisting Bishop. Fr. Hootman has contributed most recently to the production of the forthcoming Book of Occasional Offices (2026) and the provincial reform of task forces being undertaken by the Archbishop’s Office. He and his wife Emily are blessed with their son, James (1).
