Diocesan Convention 2023
Letter from the Bishop
TO THE CLERGY AND ELECTED LAY DELEGATES OF OUR 41ST DIOCESAN CONVENTION:
The 41st Annual convention of our Diocese will begin with Holy Eucharist at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10 at the Church of All Saint’s, Crestline in Fort Worth. A portion of the offering this year will be sent to the Centurion Program in Northern Malawi.
Due to limited parking at the church, it is highly recommended that clergy and delegates and visitors to the convention carpool both on Friday evening and on Saturday for our business meeting.
A reception and dinner at the River Crest Country Club will follow the service, from about 6:45 p.m. onward. We will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a bar followed by a seated dinner. Each Parish and Mission should seriously consider paying for their delegates and companions dinner reservations.
Also, please note that a choice is being offered for dinner and therefore a choice will need to be indicated at time of online registration. Please indicate if you will be staying for lunch on Saturday. Cutoff for registration is November 3.
During dinner we will have a couple of speakers. One will be the Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare. He is going to address us regarding his vision of engaging the community. We will also have the pleasure of hearing from Fr. Greg McBrayer, Assistant at St. Barnabas, Fort Worth. He will be telling us of the Chaplaincy program that was just approved for public schools.
The business meeting will be held on Saturday at the church. Registration will begin at 7:45 a.m., and Morning Prayer will be said at 8:30 a.m. The business meeting will be gaveled to order at 9:00 a.m.
We are looking forward to gathering in His name with joy and thanksgiving for this 41st Convention and pray for God’s blessing on all our preparations.
